What does 100% saving throw mean?

I've seen it mentioned before, but what exactly does having 100% saving give you? Does it mean you cannot be paralysed, afraid or have your stats swapped by nexus?

Most (all?) of the spells monsters cast that are not bolt or ball fail without any effect with exception of teleports within the level (teleport away, teleport to both still work). You can't be paralyzed or get afraid by any means (except by ingesting something that causes those) and stat-scrambling or level teleporting from nexus are prevented.

Doesn't affect melee attack effects with exception of paralyzation and I think fear.

Stunning by earthquake effects or blinding by *destruction* still go thru, same with slowing/confusing/blinding/stunning/etc. by breath attacks, you need protections to prevent those.

There are couple of high-level damaging spells that cause rather big damages and might slow you down, confuse etc. which are prevented by saving throw.

No more "It screams DIE! You die -more-"

Thanks, so I guess that means that I can remove equipment with free action and fear?

I'm a bit wary as I've not won with a priest before.

I'm 100% sure about fear, but I am sure about paralyzation. I have mainly played priest, and once I have got a small safety margin to keep me at perfect saving I have not paid any attention to FA anymore.

It has a bit drawback though. Once you have used to the fact that you don't necessarily need FA, your next warrior tends to die to paralyzation. OTOH with high enough AC and 75-80% saving you rarely die to paralyzation anymore (you might die to to something big making nasty move while you are paralyzed though). KO is worse fear. Be very careful around combo of plasma hounds + something that has teleport to like phase spiders.
