    Vanilla 3.4.1 released

    We've released 3.4, which is available on rephial. This is a minor bugfix release to clean up some of the issues that were pointed out in 3.4.0. It's recommended that you finish whatever 3.4.0 games you are playing before migrating over, although there are no known issues with transferring save files. The exception is if you're playing on the cocoa port, in which case we cleaned up some crash bugs that you might be distraught if you hit. Cocoa players are advised to switch right away.

    The full change-list is below.
    Code:
    Bugs fixed
    ==========
      #1680 Fix pickup when squelched and unsquelched items are present
      #1683 Pref-parsing bug (thanks AnonymousHero)
      #1687 Fix mis-grouping of know and fuzzy-detected items in item list
      #1669 Fix unnecessary term_refresh calls on OSX Lion (mtadd and myshkin)
      #1695 Fix quit-crash on cocoa port
    c0452e3 Do not leak information in item recall window
    cf7b50b Fix Shockbolt tile loading in SDL

    User Interface
    ==============
    cb3a780 Separate dragon scale mail from normal armor for squelch purposes
      #1678 Enable mouse-clicks in cocoa port
    Please post any comments or issues you may have.

          And the game itself in another separate download plz

          But seriously, if a 15 Mb download is *too much*, I'd consider buying a new harddrive or start cleaning up the disk you've got.
          As an alternative, dos350, you can manually delete after downloading

                There could easily be two download options: one with graphics and sound files, another without.

                Since it's an open source project, anyone can make the Lite version available. Then we'll see if there's demand.

                  It's download time with slow connection + 15MB is rather large if you send it to yourself as email attachment

                  Pure game without tiles is tiny, which is perfect for old USB sticks and stuff like that, and the less you use space the better. We don't need angband to bloat like any other bloatware out there.

                    In the 3.4.0 Cocoa port I got used to using the ' key to repeat the last action. In 3.4.1 it now targets the closest monster instead. Is there any way to get the old behaviour?

                    3.4.1 is now much much faster on Cocoa as well. Beam spells were slow to display in 3.4.0 for example, so was running.

                      The 'n' key should be the "repeat last action" command in all ports.

                        Roguelike keyset.

                          Ah, apologies -- I assume the "original" keyset unless otherwise mentioned.

                          You should be able to make a keymap that does the 'n' command when ' is hit. If you don't know how to make keymaps: Hit '=' to bring up the options screen; one of the options will bring up the keymaps screen. Create a new keymap, bind it to the ' key, and have its command be "n" (without the quotation marks, of course). Remember to save your keymaps once you're done so they'll still be around when you next load your character.

                            OK, I tried doing that, but n is not recognized as a valid command. (Binding ' to R works, binding it to n produces "Type '?' for help".)

                              This is actually not a Cocoa-specific issue; I cleaned up some of the roguelike keyset keymappings and documentation, as there were a few cases where keys mapped to multiple commands, etc. I tried to pick replacement keys reasonably, but would be happy to hear arguments for alternate solutions. In this case, the default roguelike keypress for 'repeat last command' is control-V. (I do not remember why I picked that, other than that it was available.) You'll need to map ' to control-V, not to n.

                              I'm glad to hear it. You can thank mtadd for that find. Please let us know if you see any cases where windows don't get redrawn or refreshed properly.
