    version 2 of learned slays patch (until a better name is come up with)

    * Now all integer math
    * adjusted the bonus by a factor of 0.5 as a lot of things were too easy to kill compared to before the patch.

      Monster Probability Scaling Based on Depth Patch

      Currently it's tuned as such:
      5-1 Levels Shallower than mLvl, penalty of 90->0%
      1-30 levels deeper, penalty of 0-> 50%
      31-50 levels deeper, penalty of 50 -> 75%
      50-70 levels deeper, penalty of 75 -> 99%
      70+ levels deeper, penalty of 99%

      Now... I don't fully understand monster generation yet, so this could do 'bad things'. I'm doing some testing right now, but others testing would be nice too. Notes: don't use your favorite character as I have not 'tuned' the variables in the patch yet, and it may lead to YASD. In actuality, all it should do is make abnoxious low level monsters less common at deep depths.

      Please test and let me know if it seems to work to the more experienced players out there.

        monster distribution patch v2

        * Fixed bug where monsters only started showing up 5 levels deeper than their native level (Mundane Detail)
        * Adjusted the distribution a bit
        * Added adjustment to make uniques more common as you go deeper than their native depth.

            Man it's been so long since I last sat down with a compiler that I'm lost trying to simply get things set up! :P It's been 12 years since I last wrote any code. I think I'm a bit rusty all around. :P Hopefully I can get my local setup to compile Angband 3.0.9, and once I can do that without issue I'll see about getting your patches added in.

              v4 of monster distribution changes

              * fixes a small bug that I had 'penalty' inverted. Now exhibits expected behavior.
