Hi all! I started a game as a High-Elf ranger (Dwarf priest was slow to start and I was lacking in damage output even with OoD, something that I find rather annoying because I prefer rushing in and killing everything). Yes, it's an easy race-role combination but I'm not a very experienced player so I prefer these easier roles 
Anyway, my character has been having his ups and downs. Ups being =Speed +7 and BoS +10 on the same level (DL 38, BoS from a dragon), and Trident of Ulmo from a black ooze at DL32, and down being a horrible nexus stat-scramble between WIS (at that time it was around 12) with my mainstat DEX (18/something). As you can imagine, the DEX drop prevented me from using any other weapon for a while (for some reason I still got 4.5 attacks/round with Ulmo even with my screwed up DEX), and I had to remain in statgain for a pretty long time.
As you can see now, my DEX is still 18/76 and I have yet to max it out, but the extra bonuses are more than enough to give me 5 blows/round. Now on to the main question. I have a Long Bow of Lothlorien (pStun, +1 extra might), which I am using right now, and the Short Bow of Amras at home. Basically, the Lothlorien bow allows me some equipment changes because I have pStun covered. I can switch from Serenity to Thranduil, getting ESP and a boost to INT and WIS, while losing pConf.
However, Amras gives me +1 Speed (is it that important, considering I can haste-self?) and +1 extra shots. When I examine the damage with arrows, there is a difference: 642.4 damage/round with an Arrow of Fire against non-resistant monsters (on Amras), while I do 650.4 damage with the Lothlorien bow. ....whoops. I thought Amras did more damage. Anyway, I'm not too sure about how the Ranger +shots thing works; could someone explain this to me? Is Amras the better choice, or should I go with Lothlorien, which does more damage and gives pStun? My gut instinct is with Lothlorien, but is the +1 speed from Amras more important?
Also, is there anything I should change in my inventory? Should I clear up some of the junk I have at home? Currently, I've begun to dive down, as I've heard that drops are better there while monster danger isn't that much higher. Is this true? I thought undead pits begin appearing around DL70...?
