[item's] are OP! (possible item spoilers)

I've found using rings of the mouse for my mages make the early game a lot easier. I think the stealth bonus is over powered.

I think thats ok though, since I don't always find them, and will swap them out for resists, etc. as I come across more rings.

rings of mouse are useful for mages, rogues, i think it offers a unique playstyle so i think they are okay.
rings of dog, are great for melee types, with resist fear, i have also used rings of escaping to flee with as well, might also be good for a mage to keep in inventory.

The +4 DEX on the Ring of Mouse might be the bigger of the two as it makes using a bow a lot more viable as a fallback weapon. In the early-middle levels, I make heavy use of archery as an alternative to magic missile for trash mobs or to finish off heavily wounded enemies and conserve mana. The -Hit bonus on it only affects melee.

In 3.0.9 and the 2.x series, I'd enchant my bow up to +9/+9 in late-game, brand a bunch of arrows and it was very much a second source of damage.

Not sure that I'd consider the +1 stealth overpowered. But then I play a high-elf who already has pretty good stealth.

        I usually play Gnome Mages.

Two rings of the mouse with +3/4 stealth is pretty nice. Sleep a monster and rest a couple squares away from it.
