Plead to rebalance scimitars

Besides the scimitar issue that Malak brought up, the main issue I have with weapon weights is that they're so far from reality, it's sort of ridiculous. Specifically with the swords. Long swords do not weigh 10 pounds. However, to align things with reality would mess up whatever gameplay balance we currently have.ARMA is an informal club of arms and armor enthusiasts and practitioners dedicated to exploring and reconstructing our Western martial heritage.
I guess only in movies like Highlander you see people with 25 lbs long swords...PWMAngband variant maintainer - check https://github.com/draconisPW/PWMAngband (or http://www.mangband.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=9) to learn more about this new variant!Comment

This isn't meant to be snide at all -- just an observation. I always think it's neat on how the fantasy genre works... here we're complaining about weapon weight being unrealistic in a game where you're descending 5000' under the ground, killing thousands of monsters along the way, in an attempt to slay an evil god who makes EARTHQUAKES by smacking the ground with a HAMMERGlaurung, Father of the Dragons says, 'You cannot avoid the ballyhack.'Comment

Different kinds of unrealistic. One is magic, the other is internal inconsistency - it doesn't make sense for a puny level 1 character to wield a ten-pound broadsword.Comment
