    [3.3] Supercharging randart shooters doesn't work properly

    Randart shooters get a 5% chance of supercharging extra might and/or extra shots, pumping pval to +3. If this works for extra might (INHIBIT_MIGHT = 4), it won't work for extra shots (INHIBIT_SHOTS = 3).

    I think this is due to the fact that INHIBIT_SHOTS was decreased from 4 to 3. Then a +2 bonus should probably apply to the supercharge...

    This also happens with supercharged blows for weapons (+3 bonus with INHIBIT_BLOWS = 3, leading to the randart being systematically discarded).

      This is likely true, but I don't think it's much of a show-stopper for 3.3.2 At the very least, it means that randarts might be a bit on the weak side. There are bigger problems with randart generation in 3.3 (such as the lack of RES_STUN, and the improper handling of multiple pvals.) These won't be fixed until 3.4 unfortunately.

      Randarts in 3.3 are still playable though, although you could argue that they're more challenging than standarts for this release.

        I freely accept that randarts weren't on the agenda for the 3.3 series - as fizzix says, they are playable but flawed (much like randarts up always have been, then). It wouldn't be too difficult to fix the supercharging and the lack of RES_STUN in 3.3.2, but multiple pvals requires a rewrite (which is coming, but whether it's in 3.4 will depend on 3.4's yet-to-be-agreed release date).
