    YACD - What to keep and what to dump

    My dwarven warrior Ciredhel III has reached 2500', this is deeper than any of my characters have ever been before. Because this is unknown territory for me, I am uncertain whether I am using my best combination of equipment or not. I have also some lack of storage space, so if some kind souls could tell me what items I can safely dump, I would greatly appreciate it.

      With Ringil and multiple non-weapon items with ESP only melee-weapons worth keeping besides Ringil are Firestar and Rilia. Immunity will be handy later, and disenchantment, while not necessary life-threatening, is extremely annoying (some things also breathe disenchantment, balance and chaos dragons and some uniques pretty dangerous amounts of damage). Many things deep in dungeon hit to disenchant and you should be prepared for that (undeads especially, few uniques too). Carry both.

      Ringil is highly probably best weapon you will find in entire game (multiple entire games in fact), so don't expect that above situation to change anytime soon.

      I would consider also using Amras instead your extra might bow. It has +1 speed which puts you at speed breakpoint +20 and it is also extra shot weapon which basically doubles the damage it does. That means it is more powerful than your extra might bow.

      Ringil already has brand, so Ring of Flames is pretty useless. From your current ring selection I would be using that RoS +2 even that it is very low value RoS. Swap to RoDam (or good slaying) ASAP, or better RoS.

      Keep eye for disenchantment and poison resists. If you can somehow fit those in your gear so that you do not have to carry it as swap or use a ring slot do so. As a dwarf you don't need blindness resist so amulets of Trickery and Weaponmastery, shields of Preservation and elvenkind, Aman cloaks and several artifact armors might turn up useful.

        I thought that since Ringil has frostbrand and the ring firebrand that I would benefit from having both.

          Brands don't stack, so all you get from having both firebrand and frostbrand is the ability to do enhanced damage to a somewhat larger selection of monsters -- those that resist frost but don't resist fire. There are certainly some monsters in that category, but in the mid-endgame, most monsters that you care about will resist either everything or nothing.

            Lets make this a bit more clear: No slay stacks, including brands.

            So if you are fighting Dracolich that does not resists fire with a weapon that slays evil, undead, kills dragons and has firebrand you would be getting only that x5 kill-slay even that all of them would be valid for that monster. Only highest slay counts.

            Ringil has slay evil and undead, kill demon and has frost brand (slay troll is pretty irrelevant, if it resists cold, it is weakling and you still get slay evil against it).

            There are not many relevant things that are not affected by at least one of those slays that do resist cold but not fire. Huan comes to mind, but that's pretty much it.
