YACD - Need some help to remove useless items

My most recent character Ciredhel III, have run into some storage problems. I have searched the forum and sold some artifacts and ego-items that I found that were not useful for a dwarf warrior, but I keep finding more. My most recent find is a Trident of Gondolin (+9,+12) which is, afaict, my only source of ESP so I don't want to sell that, but as a weapon it is not as good as Ringil that I am using at the moment. Should I carry the trident with me, or is that being to paranoid? I also have so many arrows that my quiver is taking 2 slots, but I don't have room to store any in my home. I am also carrying 77 !CCW for the same reason: lack of storage at home. If someone could give me some advice when it comes to what items I should sell I would be very grateful.

Wow, you found Ringil on the floor on level 27! Damn lucky! I thought Ringil didn't appear until DL40. Sometimes I wish there was an option to enlarge the home. I hate selling artifacts even if I don't use them.

Ringil is actually quite shallow item: both base item and Ringil are dlvl 20 items, it is just very rare.

I wonder how well that current allocation rarity system actually works. Ringil has allocation probability of 1, which is rarest setting there is, but is that actually rare enough for top items?

Because of that depth Ringil is actually more common than Durin, Zarcuthra, Eonwe, Ulmo, Olorin or Aule which all also have allocation probability of 1. Also Vilya and The One Ring have that same allocation probability, only thing that prevents The One from being generated as often is that it is dlvl 100 item, which means it needs to pass OoD rolls to be generated as floor item unless you are already facing Morgoth, but it also means that pretty much any vault at 4900' will have same possibility to get both.

For some reason Cubragol is one of the most common (useful) artifacts in the game, you just need to be deeper than 2500' to be in its native depth.

AFAIK all your melee weapons except the trident or theoden are useless compared to Ringil, which is a good place to start. That should last you a few levels.

I would keep also Rilia for disen resist swap and Firestar for fire immunity swap. Carry both.

All others are useless compared to Ringil.

No, I don't think it is. It's basically the equivalent of rarity 100 in the old system, and as you note, a lot of artifacts had rarity of 120 or higher (Zarcuthra was tops with 180).

I have proposed adding another level of granularity to the alloc_prob system, so that alloc_prob is "chance in 1000" rather than "chance in 100", which would allow us to allocate rarities of 100, 111, 125, 143, 167, 200, 250, 333, 500 and 1000.

If takkaria and other devs think this is the way to go with the new item generation code, I'll try and code it up for 3.4-dev soon. But there may be a better solution which involves replacing the allocation tables with some other mechanism.
