    3.2.0 DSM frequency?

3.2.0 Mac, 4 July: I'm wearing Red DSM of Stealth, kindly donated by Grishákh at 1100'. Since then, in reaching 1350' / CL26, I've found a slightly inferior Red DSM of Stealth, and a Red DSM of Craftsmanship.

    Either...
    a. frequency has increased, or
    b. frequency is unchanged and I've got lucky, or
    c. frequency is unchanged but I've not noticed before because I've usually found something of Resistance and have continued to wear it in preference to lowly DSMs

I'm sure b/c are the most likely answers. What pulled me up was that, at a time when I was struggling to inflict 40HP of damage a round (and this as a High Elf Ranger, not some book-dependent mincer), I was able to throw out a 200HP fireball every 50 turns. At this stage of my quest I think it's possibly too much of a game changing WMD?

Supplementary question: have DSMs of Permanence disappeared? I remember some discussion of whether P should be restricted to robes only, but I don't recall a resolution.

They are way toooooo often dropped. Too much junk dropped anyway.

There hasn't yet been any significant adjustment into the number of actual DSM suits dropped - that's for 3.4 once we have baseline stats for 3.3 - so yes, you're still seeing too many (but no more than 3.2.0)

There has been a significant overhaul of the *type* of ego which DSMs can get. No more permanence, very few speed, and most of them will be Craftsmanship (which has no obvious bonuses, just slightly better AC and no to-hit penalty).

I've been playing the nightlies and have yet to find a DSM of any ego other than Craftsmanship. /sadface.

After those nice early Red DSMs, an amusing randart...

I'll take this post as validation that "craftmanship," as appears in the game, is a typo.

Maybe just rename it 'shiny' or 'polished' to denote it's slight benefits?
