Real nooby question about slays

Do they stack? I.e., if I've got a weapon that can slay evil and slay demons, and I'm fighting an evil demon, is that like 6x the damage dice? Or does just one of them apply?

No they don't multiply nor add. You use the highest of slays or brands on a given weapon.

Seems like a good idea for a variant; it would make some of those higher level ego weapons even more tasty.

Oh and while we're at it...does resistance from an element reduce the chances of items in your inventory getting destroyed by that element?

Nope.

Some variants do, but not vanilla. You need immunity.
