    Funny end to battle

Picture this: My dwarf priest is on DL60 battling Dwar, Dog Lord of Waw, pounding away at him with orbs. The battle isn't going well for Dwar, and he eventually flees in terror. He has nowhere to run, however, and makes a last ditch effort to save himself by summoning an undead. He knows he is probably going down, but hopes that maybe he can conjure up a Vampire Lord or Demilich and somehow save his skin (OK I don't know if he even has skin or not). He mutters the mighty incantation and up pops... a zombified human. I can almost hear him say "Aw, crap..." as one final orb drains the last bit of unlife from him.

I guess even uniques have their bad days with the RNG. The image of this big, bad undead nasty whipping up his super-duper magic and coming up with a single zombie is simply priceless.

Thank you - that was a good read after a bad day.

Morgoth summoning greater undead to get a bunch of barrow wights is also ridiculous and happens all the time. Who in the pits of Angband said that every 'W' counts as a greater undead? I smell the dust of Aulë's D&D books…

One of my favorite moments happened when the Serpent of Chaos in Hengband made a last ditch Summon Unique spell. The expression on that cold reptilian face must have been priceless when Grip and Fang came to call

I don't know if Maggot can be summoned in the dungeon but imagine M summoning him. Surrounded by Greater Balrogs and facing a adventurer that is about to kill a demigod he asks "excuse me, have you seen my dogs?"

Some times they get it right. My recent battle with Saruman ended when with one * left, he managed to summon time hounds and teleport away. He's smarter than I, who stuck around to kill few... and narrowly escaped.

Don't think anyone can beat GSOC summoning Grip & Fang, but here's the funniest moment from my only winner (yet). [I actually logged it, it was so silly to me at the time. This is from the Journal of Zappa01 - Vanilla]

He once had an awkward moment with a Morgoth, just to see what it felt like. Should he ever be cut, rubies would spill from his veins.
