Hi,
Somehow my Str Dex and Chr are held down.
I droped all that I wore but it did not help.
what could cause this?

Something, either a trap or enemy, drained your stats. You can buy restore potions from the alchemy shop (They're not always in stock)

... and I thought I was imagining when my chr droped while fighting a jelly. (-:

It is a little annoying, any tips to avoid this.

Don't worry, you'll soon figure out which monsters can cause this. In the beginning levels, there will mostly be jellies, and you can try to get these using ranged attacks.

Also, it's not a bad idea to keep a stock of all the restoration potions in your house, at least in the early game. They don't show in the shop when you need them, so I guess it's better to be safe than rich.

Anyway, don't worry too much about this, you'll soon get the hang of it!

Don't melee them if you don't have the Sustain power from your race or equipment. Target the monsters before you fight, use the 'r'ecall option and look out for "reduce".
