UI question about "Type ? for help"

In previous versions of Angband, pressing Space would clear -more- prompts when appropriate and do nothing otherwise.

In 3.2, I am getting "Type ? for help" when I hit Space. This is problematic for me because I am in the habit of hitting Space a lot, and the help message replaces the last message. To cite a specific example, I tend to type a spell/prayer command and then Space. In earlier versions, I could glance up and see whether the spell failed, but now I just see the help message.

I guess that ideally I would quit the habit of hitting Space, but in the meantime, is there a keymap I could assign to get the old behavior back?

I think this is fixed in staging, and hopefully will soon be available from the nightlies.

The old behavior was that pressing space would clear the last message from the main window, but not print that "Press ? for help" message.

hi, i have also noticed this ~ eek@! it seems to me almost as if game is laughing at me when it does it, cos i like say walk towards a group of monster or something intense and is like press ? for help~ like is saying wat do you think you are doing loL!!!

but it hasnt been an issue other than it make me feel like worse player, hoo!

To amend my OP, hitting Space at the end of a command didn't actually allow me to still see the message before. It is just the unexpected help message that is bothering me.

I can't remember why I got into the habit of hitting Space. In 2.x.x was Space the only way to clear -more- ? I have been playing off and on forever and have various learned behaviors that are now obsolete.
