    trappers vs floor

    Hey everyone,

I just pulled head revs of angband, and noticed that floor spaces are now centered dots. I don't like this at all, to be honest, but to each their own. Isn't this a nightmare if you have orcs?

I was hacking around and when trying to figure out what the . was, I accidentally made the floor 'blank' which I actually thought pretty awesome. The biggest issue was I couldn't tell if the room was lit or not.

Anyway, my real question: I noticed that trappers are still periods aka .
Shouldn't they also be centered dots, so they blend into the floor?

Oooh, I think this may be a bug. Trappers have ATTR_CLEAR and CHAR_CLEAR, so they should use whatever character is used for the floor - even if you change your floor tile to be the letter z, the trapper should still use that letter.

P.S. Centred dots rock, but I play on a *nix console so I can't have them. You Windows dudes have it so lucky!

No. Why would it? Orcs are "o" not dots.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I just looked in the .pref file and noticed the character was still a period. I didn't know the character didn't matter.

I switched it back to check, and now see that the centered dot is still signifigantly smaller than the orc o. It's like a mini o. I was pretty surprised when I first went down and thought there were orcs everywhere.

That would be an evil addition to trappers.
