    Why is frog-knows called "frog-knows"? Was Kermit one of the original maintainers?

    I always assumed it was a pun on "frog-nose".

      No. The original devs lost track of the version number - "frog" is a euphemism for something else which, when followed by "knows" means "we have no real idea".

        Right, the actual expression is "Eru Ilúvatar knows" or just "Eru knows" for short.
