    eek well yes im gonna start a new char soon, same char.. maybe ill try the roller thing for good stats ee, ill post wat happens to me~

      Standard roller gives you completely random char in nightlies, no possibility to set values. Use point-based.

      With warrior put points to STR, DEX and CON. Anything else is less important.

        Neither Frodo nor Sam were superior hobbits. The standard roller rocks. I use it exclusively. It eliminates genetic engineering from the equation. You'll still get race and class bonuses so you warrior will be built like a warrior. Just not the perfect warrior (and of course there's the possibility that he'll be entirely sub-standard).

        Generally, it (point-based) makes the early game a lot easier, the mid game a little easier, and doesn't matter a bit in the end as all characters max out nearly all their stats eventually. A bad thing IMO.

          eee, i found an executioners sword of extra attacks, is that better than wat im using?~

          eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek ... i got to like dlvl35 and was doing quite well i thought~~~ i recalled and got slain by trapper.. i forgot to equip my axe after looking at it.. ekk , im not sure i would have survived anyway, it parylyzed me and i didnt get unstuck... eeeE~`

            Don't know about normal Angband, but after a certain depth in Sangband I just don't walk around without Free Action if I can reasonably avoid it-- in my opinion, sometimes the best way to be careful is to avoid needing to be careful.
            So you ride yourselves over the fields and you make all your animal deals and your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick.

                  At the OP, here's an example of my current midgame kit (belonging to this char ), as an example of how important redundant extra sources of not-dying-ness are:

                    Paralyze. some creatures (eyes, I think some mushrooms) can put you in a coma, while other creatures get free turns to hack you to pieces.

                    Later in the game, some powerful creatures can Confuse you and utterly destroy you, like the Greater Titan. I innocently swapped out a weapon that prevented confusion for one that was stronger but didn't prevent confusion and couldn't figure out why I was having so much trouble beating this Titan all the sudden. Came very near to death since I couldn't cast spells before realizing that I could still use Staff of Teleport while confused.

                        I hope dos350 doesn't take this as an attempt to be mean, but I'm trying to figure out what all the "eeee," "eeeek" and "ekkkk" things mean. An honest curiosity, as I don't think I've seen them used anywhere before now. Are they to communicate frustration? Nervousness? Uncertainty? Laughter?

                          I've come to the supposition that dos350 is very Yeek friendly. It's also my understanding that the yeek language is comprised solely of the letters "e" and "k" (and occasionally "y"). The unintelligible strings you refer to are IMO a translation of his posts into Yeekish.

                            Not sure if you know this (maybe I misunderstand this comment), but when you "I" to inspect items, you can hit "/" to switch to equipped items. This way you don't have to take off your armor and weapons to inspect them. Very very handy.

                              Browsing your equipment lists, I noticed that quite often you carry or equip crap.

                              For example, why are you carrying a wand of clone monster (0 charges)?
                              Why are you wearing a Helm of Wisdom [3,-2] (+1) when you have the Iron Helm 'Holhenneth' in your pack?

                              Also, I noticed that quite often you have armour that has serious acid damage. For me, if I have gear that I like that isn't immune to acid, I regularly buy and use Enchant Armour scrolls on it. You can re-enchant your armour to about +7 without wasting too many scrolls... and by the time you're using Top ego items or artifacts, the money to buy a shop-keepers complete supply of Enchant Armour scrolls is trivial.

                              ...finally, your posting hygiene is terrible. Angband players tend to be a literate group. Using txt babble, partial words, and seasoning your posts with random 'eee' and ~|~| squiggles isn't earning you favour here.

                                eek ive had a few chars since i last post.. this one i think my best char to date, i lost sadly to skull druj eek.. i no know they were so serious eek~! ive slain before.. but was also plasma vortex there dmg me greatly...

                                i found many speedy boot at low dungeon lvl~~~
                                (+8) dlvl 6 or something eek, and i never find them before.. sad to lose this GABBER (BAM BAM BAMABAMBAM) LOL~~~~~~~~

                                ive also tried a few hobbit mages but not get far.. i like the style tho i think would be nice to find good book on them. but warrior i try as again soon eek~
