    Angband, Ubuntu and X11 windows

    Hi all.
I'd like to have a multiple windows setup but cannot make it work.
My version is labelled as "Angband 3.1.1 dev"
I have done some setup in the game but even starting with -mx11 won't pop
    the windows up.
Before posting complaints with the packages maintainer in Ubuntu 10.04.1 I would like to know whether there's something (important) I'm missing.
I come from the Moria 5.2.2 era :-) and these graphical bits are new to me ...

    Thanks in advance.

IIRC, you need to specify the number of windows you want with the -n option. Try 'angband -h' to get the list of options.

    cheers,

    - b.

      Hi,

My original post seems to have been lost in the ether, so I'll try again...

      check this thread:

      or use this:

      Code:
      angband -mx11 -- -n6
      Hope this helps!

      Dave.

        This one works.
While the -n alone as suggested by bdo doesn't.
It's not clear from the man page and from the -h the thing of -- before -n6!
I would say this is a FAQ, anyway.
        Thanks everyone.

Yeah - took me a while to figure that one out!!

I much prefer to use the script mentioned in the thread I quoted though as it sets up the windows in the right positions every time for me. Although I haven't tried changing the x11-settings.prf file as mentioned in the same thread which I'll have to do...

            Dave.
