Meanwhile, an unofficial RPM of 3.1.2v2 is at http://www.terminalarrogance.com/ang...2v2-3.i386.rpm. This is made by converting the .deb package using alien. If anyone has feedback on how it works, let me know.

That's neat, the alien package works here. Only cosmetic feedback:

Needed SDL_image, SDL_mixer, and SDL_ttf before installing the RPM.

RPM threw a couple of errors upon installation, but it did not seem to affect anything.
      # rpm -i angband-3.1.2v2-3.i386.rpm
      /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.48kIcj: didn't understand being called with `1'
      /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.rlGqnp: didn't understand being called with `1'

There is no desktop entry so angband does not show up in the menu.

The angband program is not in the path. Needed to run /usr/games/angband

Excellent, thanks for the feedback. So /usr/games/ isn't on the default path in Fedora??

You're right about the desktop entry - I need to do one of those for Debian too. Fortunately Widget provided me with the one he used for Gentoo, so I'll try incorporating that.

I guess the deps didn't translate properly from Debian - I'm afraid I don't know how to solve that. Or did the rpm itself tell you those SDL packages were needed?

          Maybe this will help: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_t...an_RPM_package

Never build an RPM package but usually it looks harden than it is

Hope it helps, have no chance to setup Fedora in a VM atm...

I see /usr/bin/nethack on Fedora, and the following thread about /usr/games/.

The rpm command would not install angband until I installed the SDL_* dependencies. It is not a problem, just a note.
