    Gondricam bug?

So, I pick up Gondricam from a vault on DL29 and think I have it made... note the AC bonus. Then I think this is too good to be true, and some searching shows no-one else with Gondricam nearly as powerful. The release notes said that artifacts were tweaked somewhere in-between 3.1.0 and 3.1.2v2 (my version). Did somebody mistakenly type a zero in there while editing the artifacts?

For now I'll continue to play with this wonderful defensive bonus, but if I find out it's a mistake I'll switch back to my previous weapon, in the name of getting a fair win.

    a) The Cutlass 'Gondricam' (1d8) (+10,+11) [+50] (+4)
    +4 dexterity, stealth.
Provides resistance to acid, lightning, fire, cold.
Cannot be harmed by acid, electricity, fire, cold.
Feather Falling. Speeds regeneration. Prevents paralysis.
Grants the ability to see invisible things.

    Combat info:
    5 blows/round.
With an additional 7 strength and 4 dex you would get 6 blows
With an additional 0 strength and 5 dex you would get 6 blows
    Average damage/hit: 37.7.

Gondricam is basically a super Defender weapon now, yes. Thing is, even with the massive AC boost it's not generally as good as a weapon that deals more damage. That said, it's still a damned sight better than before the artifact tweaks, when basically nobody ever used it unless they'd been really unlucky with drops up to then.

Thank you. To the OP: yes, your new find is totally legit, so continue enjoying it. As Derakon says, it was on a list of never-used artifacts which were tweaked to try and make them more often useful. Glad it has worked in this case. It still doesn't do a lot of damage, but if it works in your situation, that's good.

Ah, I'm glad! The current game has been generous with artifact armor but tightfisted with weapons. So far I've only found Gondricam and Nimthanc, so I'll happily use the former until a better one comes around.

I found it around 1200' and the +4 DEX and AC bonus were huge (HE Warrior).

Less of a big deal once I got some decent armor and some STR/DEX potions.

I used it for a brief time with my competition mage. I needed the basic resists and it put my AC near 150, which meant that I could stand and fight packs of orcs (with my sword), and it's still in my home. Without the AC boost, I would have sold it by now.
