    Shop observations

I noticed a few things about the shops:

    1. Is Black Market the only possibility for selling mushrooms? Since 3.0.8 Mr. General Store doesn't buy anymore.

    2. How comes that Black Market frequently sells mage books (even the more interesting ones) but not a single interesting priest book when I'm playing a priest?

    1. I think so. Why does it matter? Isn't the only reason one would want to sell mushrooms to id them.

    2. That's the RNG. Praise him more, and he might give you what you need (or kil you...)

      Just being curious.

And to make money as long as you need it.

That's the what? Is there a FAQ for these Abkürzungen?

Yeah, praise him. Sure, I'll do. I often threatened the shop owners to praise them with my Lucerne Hammer. 5k limit for sold weapons and armor is ridiculous. Damn that stingy bastards.

You will never make any money selling mushrooms - who do you think you are, Farmer Maggot?

RNG - Random Number God. This is the entity that hears you think ("The only way I can die now is if...") and promptly makes "if" a reality. You should be thankful for whatever the RNG gives you (even if its zero books and a 5k purse in your favourite store) and make the most of it, and laugh at the RNG's cruel jokes, because they actually are pretty hilarious.

Failing to appreciate the world that the RNG creates for you is a bad idea.

        Praise the RNG!
        You sold a Broken Sword (1d2) (-2,-4) {average} (j) for 1 gold.
        The shopkeeper howls in agony!
You say "Dude, the clue is in the name...".

          He's my uncle.

Back in my young days I had to make money of everything. But nowadays that's not necessary anymore.

              Ah, thanks. Pardon me.

I forgot to take a look at *that* FAQ. *blush*

It only makes sense really, seeing how most of mushrooms are hallucinogens or poisonous, and therefore banned by the federal government.

Although really, in the theme of Tolkien, the general store should also carry pipes and pipeweed (Longbottom Leaf etc).

Maybe you could find all random colors and flavors of pipestuffs in the dungeon and smoke them for effects over time.

                g) Smoking : a wooden pipe (weed of speed) (23 turns)

Or considering Gandalf, I suppose "increased mana regeneration" would be an appropriate smoking effect. At the same time it reduces hp regeneration. So you'd see wizards smoking a lot

                Or not.
