    Annoying 'beep' noise

I've started playing Angband a while ago, I really like it, but this beep sound is really killing me. Whenever I press a certain command like 'w' (wield) or 'q' (quaff) and then press a key that isn't binded to an inventory item, I get this loud beep. Like one of those sounds your computer produces and not the speakers. Is there any way to disable this?

Press = to bring up the options menu. There should be a way to turn off the 'system beep' in there somewhere.

I wonder if this should be off by default. Does anyone appreciate this?

I appreciate it... Tells me that my macro is wrong, or I hit an incorrect key.

I think beeps are just annoying - i always turn them off. On every system for every failure (not just Angband).

I think it should be outright removed, myself. It's always one of the options I turn off without even really thinking about it.

I like it. Sometimes I use it to make a monotone song for stress relief...

I leave it on, but could live without it. It would be more useful if it notified you of status changes (which I often miss).
