    Just a thought

There should be a bank so we can borrow money to buy something, the cash you have upon returning from a trip down the dungeon would be automatically transferred back to the bank to repay the loan, but enough left in your pocket to buy torches, food, recall and ammo.

    Had exactly the same thought..
Interest rates would depend on charisma.

Along the same lines, it would be neat if there was a layaway option in the Black Market. Pay 15% of the item's cost to keep it in stock, and pay the rest later to retrieve the item.

Awesome idea as well, especially in the competition it would have been worth it !!

I didn't have interest rate in mind but that could be interesting!

IIRC, in Larn there was a tax office that charged interest on dungeon earnings of the successors to winners. These ideas would be like that, only useful instead of annoying. Layaway may be a bit overpowered - but I like the idea.

Bank interest would have to be ridiculously high. Can you imagine all the would-be adventurers taking out a loan for BoS, a longbow and a few !Healing, then never coming back? They'd have to be losing money hand over fist...

Though suddenly it would make sense why all those low-level adventurers are milling around the dungeon carrying 40gp and amulets of slow digestion.

Breaking news: Town Bank in administration following poor lending decisions - record levels of sub-prime adventurers defaulting... Masses of angry adventurers attempting to PhaseDoor into the vaults... Central Bank of Valinor expected to launch bail-out soon... lol...

I thought I was playing moria, larn, umoria, or something where you used to be able to drop gold in your house... It would help to at least keep it safe, as what character can actually hold 2 million gold coins in their pocket, but can't hold onto that extra ring of speed they just found... Let alone "2,000,000 gold worth of copper coins"

The loan idea may be interesting, but I bet that would just allow people access to too many powerful items early in the game. I do like layaway though... It would be great... I think to balance out the game you would need to raise the black market prices a bit though...

maybe make black market 5-10 times standard price, and only allow one item to be held in layaway at a time. If you switch items because something great pops up that you'd really rather have, you have to pay a forfeit tax (maybe like 20%) on some of the accrued layaway.

This might help to keep things more reasonable. I do like the concept, because usually by the time I have enough money to really want anything from the black market, I have found much cooler stuff down in the dungeon.
