    Replacing #s with block characters

I've seen a lot of threads about this, and I've been able to fix it for several variants, but not for the latest Angband release.

I really hate # characters, preferring the block symbol by far. I know that the latest Angband release has an 'interact with visuals' menu under the '=' options menu, but all I see there is a way to dump the options and to load an option file. The dumped files told me not to change them, and when I tried anyhow, the Angband program gave errors when I tried to load the .prf back up. So how can I get my block characters back?

    edit: The font-win.prf file reads

    # Granite walls & permanent rock (white : solid block)

    F:56:1:127
    F:57:1:127
    F:58:1:127
    F:59:1:127
    F:60:1:127
    F:61:1:127
    F:62:1:127
    F:63:1:127

I thought 127 was the block character, so why am I seeing the hatches instead?

Because font-win.prf is commented out in the main fonts pref file.

Go to pref/font.prf and uncomment (remove the #'s from) the line:

    ?:[EQU $SYS win]
    %:font-win.prf
