    SP Dissapearing

    Hey all,

I had my SP depleted on my character after a nasty run in with a vault full of molds and jellies. At least I think that's what did it. Anyways, what causes SP to dissapear permanently ( your max amount drops ) and how can you get it back? Thanks.

Probably your INT (for ranger, rogue or mage) or WIS (for paladin or priest) has been drained.

You can buy restore potions in the alchemy shop or the black market (not always in stock). There are also mushrooms or restore ...

Jelly pits are not worth the effort ususally. Just leave them alone.

The only causes of SP loss other than stat and xp drain are equipment-based:

      1) Mages, rogues, and rangers suffer a 25% SP reduction for equipping gloves without Free Action on them.

      2) All casters lose 1 SP for each pound of equipped armor beyond their max armor weight. That is 30 lbs for mages, 35 lbs for priests, and 40 lbs for rogues, rangers, and paladins.

          AHA!

Its the armor I'm wearing. My other armor got acid munched by Gelatinous Cubes in said vault so I put on a suit of chain I found. I figured there would be some fallout for that but didn't notice the SP. Thanks all

Stay away from jelly pits. There is zero benefit. (Only exception is black puddings, which have pretty good drops later in the game. But you don't want to fight them without acid immunity, or at least dropping any vulnerable gear.)

Yeah man, lesson learned. It was a singularly unrewarding -and-difficult experience. Fortunately I always travel with staves of teleportation otherwise I would have likely been toast...
