Trouble getting inside a treasure vault.

Is it possible to use the Portal spell to teleport inside this treasure room? As you can tell by my level, I've scoured over every square inch of this dungeon floor and I haven't found any way to get inside. I've also casted Detect Doors/Stairs throughout the place.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, the Phial!

Teleport spells won't get you inside a vault.

Your only chance is to scum the level for diggers or wands of stone to mud (or wonder, which sometimes bursts stone to mud or earthquake).
(Monsters respawn after a while, you might get lucky.)
OTOH it can be a tedious process. The phial will probably turn up again later on.

Also, keep your eye out for heavy weapons, even junky ones.

At str 18/40 you can tunnel through granite with a heavy weapon--a 20lb weapon gives you a 1 in 1600 chance. A 25 lb weapon gives you 6 in 1600, and a 30lb weapon gives you 1 in 145, not bad.

EDIT:
but your best chance at cl 24 is the Priest/Paladin "Earthquake" spell, which is useless for anything except getting into vaults at low levels. It will take a while, but you will eventually get in.

Many vaults require digging through granite to get in. Several vaults also are lined with permanent rock so you can only dig through a handful of spots.

The 'show permanent rock as a diffrent color' is nice to turn on for the latter.
