        Hi, I really need some direction with what to get rid of. I didn't want to start a new post and clutter the forum. I just came back from a huge vault and had to sacrifice some of my magic books and other items so I could bring back things including: westernesse, arrows of slay evil, seeker arrows, eorlingas etc. I found too much good stuff! Now the problem of what to keep and what to throw away...

        I am thinking of getting rid of:

        Holcolleth (as Colannon has speed +3 )
        Possibly Olorin??? (But this one has +4 INT and +4 WIS and I could use it as a swap when primarily using Bard and casting spells from a distance - i don't know...)
        Anarion (Shield of Resistance seems better with [10,+31] and I can mostly cover stats with other items)

        Any help pls

          You've got way too many weapons--a ranger with bard can do such insane damage, he's unlikely to need a big supply (Orome and/or Eorlingas for speed and maybe one big CON weapon. For straight-up damage, Aule is much better)
          Sell Nain.

          Also, you don't need to worry about INT or WIS--it's just not that important for a half-caster. What you want are scrolls and potions. And arrows.

          Lots of jewelry is no good.

            Wouldn't Aglarang be better than Eorlingas for speed? Or are we choosing Eorlingas because of the slay evil and higher melee damage? Even Maedhros has +1 speed over Eorlingas. But we are only equipping this when going to bow?

              I didn't read your inventory closely.

              You could kill M with your current stuff, if you put on Aglarang and Colannon--and had a bunch more ammo.

              Basically, just keep your biggest speed bonus, and your biggest Slay Evil bonus weapons. The slay evil will come in handy if you run out of ammo vs M, and the speed may come in handy if you can find a way to wear multiple Rings of Power.
              (Aglarang + Colannon, for example.)

              And you definitely have too much armor. Belegennon is essentially worthless, given Caspannion. With your current gear, I'd go with Caspannion, Colannon and Trickery-- 6 more speed while maintaining CON 18/200 is a very good trade.

                I think the main reason I chose to wear Belegennon [28,+20] instead of Caspanion [16,+20] was the additional 12 in AC. Does this matter so much? I know Caspanion has the extra CON +3, and I am already at 18/210 with CON. Both have rPoison.

                Also the removal of Aman [3,+32] for Colannon [1,+15] will hit my AC again by 19 points. Should I be worried?

                  A breakpoint in AC is 150 (this gets the maximum damage reduction for physical hits: 5 hp in becomes 2 hp taken.)

                  There aren't that many places where I'd choose AC over resistances/stats/... . But as long as you're comfortable with your speed and aren't sacrificing resistances/stats, going for AC 150 is fine.

                    Caspanion lets you wear two speed items -- Trickery for Dwarves (CON) and Colannon for Aman (RConf.) It's a huge win.

                      Ok it makes sense now! Thanks guys.

                      With the move to Caspanion, Trickery and Colannon, speed jumped to 21. Had my STR at 190 with that setup so I swapped Fingolfin with Cambeleg. Now all stats maxed at 18/*** except for STR = 18/210. Armour = 149 (close to breakpoint). That's pretty good

                        Got my first ever win!!! Very happy

                        Thanks everyone - esp. Pete - for the help and guidance with equipment setup and endgame approach.

                        Used Aglarang + PoS to get speed to 40. Purely used Bard and stood my ground. Went through 25 x arrows of slay evil, stack of seeker arrows (+10,+10), 1xbanishment scroll, 5xPoL, 3xPoH, 1xRod of Healing, 1xGondor (500HP) and just got Morgy before I would have started to use potions of cure critical/serious wounds.

                        Pickup from the kill included Grond, Camlost, Vilya and MICoM.

                        Will descend quicker next time as I went through too many turns on this character. Just wanted to take my time as I was never down this far before. Big problem was that I didn't saved good arrows, potions of life/heal, banishment scrolls etc from the beginning - I was too obsessive with keeping artifacts. This added to my turns as I had to accumulate these items at the very end.

                        Had a lot of fun playing!
