    Advice request

I am currently running this character.
    http://angband.oook.cz/ladder-show.php?id=9106
    A few questions:
First, about which level should I be on, and what does this character need to go deeper than that?
Second, what equipment should my character wield?
    Thanks.

    1. Next time you're in town, go to your home, pick up Gorlim and Mormegil, drop them so that they stop taking up useful space. Both are terrible and near useless.

    2. Wear Totila and Thranduil, rConfusion on totila will replace it lost from thengel, and telepathy from Thranduil is probably the most important stat you can get. 3 speed isn't worth losing telepathy. Also the stealth on totila will help.

Otherwise you look good, pick up another ring as soon as you can and a better amulet of wisdom.

Hope for something with rPoison soon too!

EDIT: You can probably sell off some of your home stuff that isn't too useful, but I'd wait for others to weigh in first. If you do sell anything, at least save your elvenkind mail, it has rNether and it could be useful later on.

I agree about the ESP of Thranduil being most important. You can avoid bad situations when you see them coming at you. Loss of resist confusion is not so important so long as you carry potions to cure it. Just make sure that you check the monster memory or spoiler file mon-info until you can remember what confuses...

True, but mistakes happen and sometimes one will forget and get confused on accident, rConf while not absolutely vital, is nice, especially if you accidentally get swamped by hummerhorns or something, heh.

There are six artifact armors which provide resist confusion, one is bound to become available if he lives longer by having telepathy. That is why I am wearing ACM Caspanion.

The point I'm trying to make though is 2 stealth and rConf is better than the speed he could get off the spear or gauche, but I agree telepathy is by far more important. But both is better.

Elessar is way better than Evenstar. Especially at CL 50 with another source of RDark and RCold. (In that case, Evenstar is essentially worthless.)

I killed every unique monster except Sauron and Morgoth. Then I Descended to face nad Sauron killed him. I then descended again to face Morgoth which I did but I made no progress. Before making a second attempt does anyone have an idea has to how to do it and what equipment to use.

I just won with my paladin about 4 days ago, and the strategy I used was to dig a hole into the corner of the map (TO'ing him if I need some more time), put on two Rings of Power, used a staff or potion of Haste, and just pummeled him slowly to death. Every time I would drop more than 300 points from my max, I would use Heal from pb4. Keep in mind that many times you will have to heal in consecutive turns, so don't be discouraged.

If he summons in great wyrms or greater undead and you get surrounded, use a scroll of Mass Banishment, but use them sparingly. Many times he will break the monsters' LoS to you with his earthquakes.

If you keep all your mana for casting Heal (and sometimes TO for individual nasties) and the occasional Prayer, you will be able to have your mana last a LONG time. Stock up on !RestoreMana; each one means you get about 20 more Heals that fight.

Just like playing a WoW paladin, you're not going to kill him very quickly but dammit if you can't sit there and take an inhuman amount of punishment and never die and whittle him down slowly. I only have +15 speed, so your +42 will serve you well, but you can swap out the boots or a ring or Cubragol if you need more resists or mana, etc. Morgoth moves at (I think) +25 speed, so anything over that when hasted will keep him from double tapping.

Morgoth moves +30, and you may as well leave the staffs and wands at home - they get drained. You need potions of speed, restore mana, life, and a stack of *healing*. That is the real reason why my LCC3 is scumming 97-98 - consumables...

You can drop wands/staves as long as you don't plan to phase around--currently they can only get drained out of your backpack but you can use them from the floor (e.g. u - a).
