    r1415 bug - Item generation

Monster dropped a tulwar, had 3d4 damage dice. I wielded it and it was {splendid} and branded with flame.

Tulwar are usually 2d4, so I was happy, thinking I found an artifact... but I read an ID scroll and it was just a Tulwar of flame...

So yeah, can ego's increase damage dice, or is a display bug, or a broken artifact?

    Dump posted, save attached.

Egos have allways (well, at least since the Ben H days) had a small chance of having boosted dice. It comes up rarely enough that we tend to forget.
One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to bind them.
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness interrupt the movie.

I think someone once calculated that the chance of finding an ego with extra dice is actually less than that of finding an artifact - though with the additional egos in 3.1 that might no longer be true ...
