Staff of Holiness?

What does the Staff of Holiness do?

My search-fu didn't turn up anything of relevance.

1. Inflicts 120 damage on all evil Monsters in LOS
2. Cures fear, cuts, and stunning.
3. Heals you of 50HP
4. Gives Protection From Evil.

It is a nice weapon against rooms full of Orcs, Trolls and Dragons if you have the appropriate immunity. Otherwise, it's not much use. I'd rather carry staffs *Destruction* or Speed or any number of other utility objects.
