What's the highest possible speed boost on a Ring of Speed? On my V rogue I found a +17 a while back and am favoring it over even a ring of Power... is that weird? Just curious if it's so rare that I should keep it.

+17 is a very good one. Beyond RoSpeed +10, the chances of finding each additional unit go down by 1/2. So +10 is twice as common as +11, and four times as common as +12. +17 is about as good as you will ever see. -
I found a +22 back in 2.9.2. Haven't seen anything close since.Comment

I found +23 in Vanilla 3.0.6. Overall max speed with haste spell was +55. Unfortunatelly Ringil did not appear, otherwise it would be an Angband land speed record :-)Comment
