Gelatinous Cubes. I want one.

Okay, I really wanna play a race that can engulf/devour their enemies. It just seems fun, roving about the dungeon, swallowing enemies whole and then laughing as you absorb their experience...

Anyone else think this would be fun?

I think it would be pretty sweet. You would have substantial inventory maintenance problems though...

You can eat stuff to equip it, but you cannot unequip (no swaps!) it. Also, when equipping (eating) new stuff, the old is destroyed. Only 13 inventory slots, but can swallow potions whole (with flask/bottle) to use later and absorb staffs/wands/rods (pretty much Entro-Magic Eater). Again, once picked up stuff cannot be dropped, only destroyed. Curses don't apply to it, as it simply eats the curse. Together with the item ^^
But it would be kinda munchkinish, considering the lethal attack and high innate speed bonus =P

Now that would be it's own variant, GCBand =P

LOL, this is so badass. I wonder if we could get anyone to actually make this for us? I would love GCBand. It wouldn't have to nessacarily have the huge speed bonus... it could even be slow, so you have to try to pin in your foes in a corner, and weaken them enough before you could engulf and digest their succulent flesh. ^_^

I wonder if the possessor class in ToME can inhabit the body of a gelatinous cube.. probably they don't leave corpses.

They don't, and even if they did they can't wield anything.
