    3.1.0 bug/requests

    Another bug:
    Inscriptions are no longer shown in the home (regression vs 3.0.9). I assume that because store discounts are no longer possible, inscriptions are no longer shown in all stores. But it's a mistake in the home.

    Feature requests:
    - Add contents of home to knowledge menu.
    - Show device skill level as a number, with color dark green at skill = 53. Alternatively show expected failure rate on all devices. (I haven't played warrior in a while. I find that I want to know what the real failure rate on _*Destruction* is.)

    And one more thing:
    Make a command for buying out the store! After playing a couple rounds of Eddieband, the lack is driving me nuts! Especially when I meet Time hounds/vortices...

      strange, mine did

      I second the requests - i would especially like all the remaining abilities in the char display to have a number/percentage/more descriptive value, current descriptions are not helpful at all; i really like how the new version displays saving throw, search, perception etc;

      don't know how this may be done though, how do the levels of ability in fighting shooting and stealth impact in the game exactly? apart from the obvious fact that better "descriptions" imply you are better at that specific task?

      Also, on the saving throw line, it might be helpful to have two values stated - one with your current AC, and another, maybe in parenthesis, if you were "naked", ie considering only clvl and WIS; this could possibly lead to magic items that give extra bonuses to saving throws, in the case the effort might be worth it - as things are now, i don't ever bother checking my save value

      EDIT: while in 3.1.0 i saw inscriptions in the home, in 3.1.1 r1229 i don't anymore

        Heartily seconded - this is a feature of Sang that I've missed in V ever since.

        AFAICT the split seems to be between absolutes (like saving throw, which are shown as numbers), and skills which depend on a device or dungeon level (like disarming, and devices) which are still shown as adjectives. The split makes sense to me, so I'd happily go with the option of having failure rates shown on 'I'nspecting devices (and in chardumps) - this is another really good feature of Eddieband.

        There is one I think is currently wrong though - stealth is an absolute, but is still shown as an adjective. I'd really like to know the figure for stealth.

          If stealth is to be converted to a figure, I'd rather give an approximate notice probability.
          Zaiband: end the "I shouldn't have survived that" experience. V3.0.6 fork on Hg.
          Zaiband 3.0.10 ETA Mar. 7 2011 (Yes, schedule slipped. Latest testing indicates not enough assert() calls to allow release.)

            More bugs:
            Speed boots are insanely common
            Mushrooms of vigor are insanely rare. (More rare than speed boots...)

              Are you playing 3.1 or the trunk version? Egos have been toned down in commonality a bit there.
              takkaria whispers something about options. -more-

                I'm playing the trunk. I synced last night. In this game, I've found 3 pairs of BoS so far, two on the floor at dl 47, and a third, +9, in the armory. (I bought those.)

                  IIRC it's 1-in-2^N, where N is your stealth score. So it's easy enough to do in your head ...

                    If both power-of-two and cube tables are memorized, yes the probability can be crunched in one's head:
                    Code:
                    		/* Anti-stealth */
                    		notice = randint0(1024);

                    		/* Hack -- See if monster "notices" player */
                    		if ((notice * notice * notice) <= p_ptr->state.noise)

                      Possible bug in 3.1.0

                      I don't know if this has been reported before but playing 3.1.0 beta on windows XP, I saw a leather shield [6,-1] in the armoury with store owner Decado. Also when I tried to screen dump it would not let me ( its ")" to screen dump right? ). So I took a screen shot and attached it.
