"Sticky" points

I was wondering, what stages in the game do you find harder to play at/survive in ?

personally, i find i die the most

-at the very early turns when i stumble upon too many snagas/novice p
-right before the point i am able to acquire _TelSelf, when ?Phase doesn't make the cut anymore
-at deeper levels when i don't have -TelOther, either because i didn't find it or because it got destroyed (aaargh!)
-at even deeper levels when i try to tackle a difficult vault and don't have *Destruction*, and can't bring myself to teleport (ie i die because of greed)

When I return to a saved game in a dungeon. Really, don't know why.
I underestimate new enemies.

This is where I usually bite it. I get caught in a room full of nasties (uruks, typically) that's too big to ?phase out of, and I die having run out of healing, waiting for ?WoR to kick in.

Runner-up is a level with an undead beholder that I keep teleporting away from that continues to come and find me after I get beat up by other monsters in the meantime, because I'm too stubborn to leave the level. After losing 3 or so chars to this kind of behavior, I managed to save my last one, though.

Also, when the druids and patriarches starts appearing. When it is not hounds it is netherbolts for me.

-Gelatinous Cubes. I don't know why they're so effing fast, but I always use up all my ?Phase and ?TelSelf getting away, but they have some kind of Sinister GPS on me or something. They then proceed to dissolve all my equipment while running for a staircase, then my flesh as my armor all dissolves to nothing.

-Low levels fighting hordes of Orcs and the like.

-New Uniques, as I have yet to get below I think 2200'.

-Gelatinous effing cubes.

-Spells that come from somewhere I cannot see.

Oh. And Gelatinous Cubes.

I hate them.

Around character level 9 I get distracted by thinking about how I'd like to change the game and he dies of neglect while I research stuff on the Internet and mess with files
