    Rods of Detection

Do you think having rods of Treasure Detection, Door/Stair Location, and Trap Location all together is a pretty good "entering the stairs down" setup by cl 19 and depth of 700' (14)?

I thought it was pretty good, but I was wanting to know if I needed anything else right now. ((Running a Warrior by the way.))

TD is meaningless. Treasure just 'turns up'.
D/S is helpful if you want to go deeper or see escapes.
Traps in V are usually dull except trapdoor. Can be usefull if you want to go deeper wihout stairs. Can be a pest if you fall down before ouy get what you want from level.

CL 19 warrior at 700' should not care too much about these minor detections, compared to resistances and good weaponry.

Entering stairs down at 700' will usually be dull for cl19 Warrior with good weapon.

    Go deeper.

As Neil said, you're good for now, but you'll want _dEvil at around 1000', and _telSelf as soon as you can afford it. Those other things (your rods) are mostly luxuries... ?mapping is more useful for survival, IMO, but isn't really necessary unless you're diving.

Interesting. I never use _dEvil (but I rarely play non-spellcasters). I agree about _tSelf, and more so -tOther, or an other esape (?tLevel or ?Destruction). ?phase is useful from dl1 to dl100.

Consumables at your depth for Warrior: !CCW, ?phase, !speed, !berserk. Never underestimate ?bless, !hero.

IMHO, warrior at this depth should be *killing*. A good weapon will make most of your other problems go away.

You will need FA fairly soon, For warrior, and many playstyles, this often means dwarven armour.

-TD are useful when looking for potions and dungeon spellbooks!
If you can convincingly pretend you're crazy, you probably are.

Thank you for all your guys's help. Luckily I did happen upon Free Action in the form of a Defender Short Sword, (+8,+9), [+4] (+4 stealth), which gave me rParalysis, which is the same thing as free action, right?

Yeah, Treasure Detection detects all items now, not just (*). That really threw me because I couldn't any Staves of Detect Item or whatever they were called, lol.
