Poll: Do you like Angband's new stat potion distribution?

Angband has significantly changed the potion of stat gain distribution, perhaps for the better. I'm going to save my arguments for a reply post, but I figured it was time for a scientific poll.

I voted "yes", but in that I like that they are reduced so you actually can't sit around and spin your wheels on 30 to get maxed out. I think it's still a bit low, but if it were raised slightly then it would be perfect.

Scumming the same dlvl 30 monsters for stat potions is no fun when you're barely getting xp from them and wading through them like a hot tub. Much more fun to pick them up as you go down deeper.

I think people who do this provide their own punishment.

The solution here would seem to me not to make stat pots rarer, but to make them cease to be found on the floor, if such a thing could be done. As things stand, it simply isn't any easier to "pick them up as you go down deeper." The current stat potion distribution doesn't favor any particular style of play, except the kind that can make do without stat potions (read: evariste's).

I like the general idea. However, this deserves a big warning to people who have played angband since 2.4.x It's easy to wander down to "stat gain" and then wonder what is going on.

If people are completing the game unmaxed, I think they could use a tweak upwards. Sure, experts will go faster (less stat gain), but nonexperts will just die more for the lack.

Maybe this can be addressed by smoothing out some nasties in the midgame? Unsure.

Anymore I max stats by buying potions in 7. I've found it faster than finding stat gain pots, and it doesn't take that long really. For me 2-3 dives at around 1600-1800 will yield around 28k au for a stat pot. By the time I find lots of stat pots, I'm already maxxed, and I sell 'em for 8k each.
