    Graphics glitch in OSX version

First, thanks for all the improvements with this version. It feels much snappier and more balanced overall (although I'm usually only good for 10-15 levels before dying).

I have encountered a fairly frequent graphics bug in the mac version. When the screen does a redraw due to movement, a strange character or string of characters appears: sometimes single, sometimes a row (as in the attached picture). The characters persist even when walked over, but doing a spell detecting doors and traps seems to remove them.

It doesn't appear to be game breaking, but I hadn't seen this glitch mentioned elsewhere on the forum, and I wasn't sure how much OSX testing was happening.

    Snappy, heh

I've just been trying to reproduce this glitch on 3.1.0, and haven't been able to yet - but it may well depend on font/tilesize/OS settings...

Is there any chance you could send me your Angband preferences file ( ~/Library/Preferences/net.thangorodrim.Angband.plist ) together with the savefile, just in case? Stick them in the mail to rowan -at- beent [dot] je , and I'll see if I can reproduce and fix.

(Also - what OS X version are you on, and PPC or Intel? It could all make a difference...)

This looks like the trap detection radius not being graphics-aware. In that case, this has already been reported.
takkaria whispers something about options. -more-

Ahhh, that makes sense. I was wondering what on earth could cause it...

The detection radius issue does make sense; sorry that I didn't make the connection. I'll send a pref and savefile just in case.

            The title made me chuckle.
            Angband and graphics? =D
If you can convincingly pretend you're crazy, you probably are.
