    Basic Questions: Ball Spell + List Items

    Just started a week or so ago. Two basic questions:
    -How do I get a list of every item/monster on screen?

    -What sequence of keys do I use to target a ball spell at a specific square?
    * initiates targeting.
    I use direction keys to select a square
    But which key to press to CHOOSE it?

    Thanks for the help.

    You don't have big enough screen. But try with '~' (tilde, the one below Esc on some keyboards).

    I always use keypad 0. But probably *, space or enter should work, too. Or 5?

      press 'o' to select any tile you want (not a necessary step), and 't' to confirm target and fire away.

        If you make a new window by going to Window -> Visibility -> Term-1 (or anything besides 0 which is the main window) then you can go into the in-game options then the "Window Flags" sub-menu and set that window to display a list of every monster (even off-screen ones) in your character's line of sight. Sadly I don't think there's an equivalent for items.

          I have a patch that I hope to get in eventually that gives a "list items" command and a "list items" subwindow.
