Minimum requirement to kill Morgoth and obtain one Sil?

Especially on melee. Never fought Morgoth before on a melee character so not exactly sure what to expect. I can account somewhat for his stats, but his earthquake attacks, other special abilities, and regeneration makes me unsure of just how much it would take to take him out.

I am NOT planning on taking momentum, song of sharpness, or song of slaying. Rapid attack and two weapon fighting are fair game though. So is great speed (I'm a smith).

Also, as an aside, do you need to have a sharpness weapon to take out the first sil?

And between sharpness or branded weapon, which would be better for the throne room if you had to pick one?

he has none of those abilites (he does of course have enough song to paralyze Morgoth). Anyway looking at what he's got melee wise might be a good start for how much raw damage you need without song of slaying/sharpness.

I'll also note that 4d16 from a great-axe will do it with slaying & no form of sharpness. I hit 2 criticals at most, so branded & sharp full str from a 2-hander should work no song.

Hm. Okay, so a decent amount of strength, rapid attack, and concentration...and a sharp 3 dice weapon.

(+23,3d12)x2 when str and dex buffed, so (+20,3d9)x2 unbuffed. Without rapid attack, it's 1x(+23,3d12) due to his 7 strength, 3 dex, and 20 melee investment on Saithnar (0,3d5)[+1].

7 strength is from 3 base strength, 2 from +2 str ring, 1 from gloves, and 1 from Gundor. That's not too hard to reach.

He had a ridiculous high perception though (up to +11 melee from concentration when buffed).

But it looks doable. I can substitute dexterity for his concentration bonus. And great speed will let me sneak in more blows to counteract Morgoth's regen.

It's a few versions out of date, but this is a no ability Morgoth killer by Psi. There are many impressive chars on the ladder by many different players, but for my money, the most impressive. For what it's worth. I'm sure there may be more impressive ones, but wow, I was pondering whether a victory was even possible, much less a V slayer.

Well, I guess I'll keep an eye out for Saithnar then. That or Anglachel/Anguirel. Celeg Aithorn should also work since it's branded. And I'm sensing that you need around 30 melee, whether that's through concentration or slaying or just pure investment into melee. Gonna have to test it out myself.
