I've been playing a few smithers recently, and seeing some of the morgues from the old versions got me curious: How has the amount of XP one can expect to accumulate before hitting a min depth of 1000' changed over the last three versions? It seems to be decreasing, but my last winning smither, who still managed to make a 63 difficulty longsword, had about 75k before going down to 1000', whereas some characters from 1.1.1 or 1.2.1 appear to have 95-100k.

Also, the formula for gaining xp off seeing/killing monsters is (DLx10) x (1/instance), rounded down, where DL is dungeon level (1-20). I'm pretty sure you get both types of xp even if you kill an "unknown" monster (eg Whispering Shadows). The monster makeup between versions also diffrs somewhat, albeit most of the changes have taken place on the earlier levels who give neglible xp.Comment
