    sight question

    Hi,
Just to make sure I've got this correct?
Keen senses is equivalent to true sight.
Inner light makes area lit by light source brighter.
Song of Trees is equivalent to inner light.
If have a bright light source, say light radius 3, then that is equivalent of having both keen senses and inner light.

    No and no.

Keen Senses gives see invisible but no resistance against blindness etc. (which is part of true sight) on the other hand it gives one tile additional vision of creatures (beyond your light radius) - which doesn't compare to anything else. Your actual light is unchanged and this is an important difference (vulnerability to darkness, enemy morale) compared to additional light. Also, you won't see equipment beyond your light radius only creatures.

Song of Trees increases your total light. I.e. it increases the range of your light as well (inner light never does that) and it isn't limited to a single point - though you will need some investment in song for song of trees to bring 2 or more points.

Keen senses gives +5 towards the perception check for seeing invisible, but does not give see invisible itself.

Is see invisible a larger bonus or is this simply saying it would stack w/ see invisible?

I'm not 100% sure, which is why I left it vague - however I believe that See Invisible is binary. Therefore if you have it, you can see invisible creatures and if you don't you need to make a perception roll which keen senses gives a +5 bonus to.

(that said, it wouldn't surprise me to find See Invisible is a +10 bonus like a source of FA)

Hope someone corrects me if I"m wrong but from memory of looking at the code at some point, see invis is a +10 bonus and will stack with keen senses.

Yeah see invis is +10 bonus, which theoretically should stack with multiple sources but doesn't right now (probably being fixed)

see invis and keen senses will stack together though, for max bonus of +15 to your perception roll when detecting invis
