Effect of abilities on free attacks

I'd like to ask - do abilities like focused attack apply on free attacks? Can I get a polearmmaster free attack and have focused attack on it? Will a kill from a Zone of Control attack trigger Follow-through?

Not sure about all attacks but focus and polearm (and of course knockback) combines (very well). Take a good glaive and idle near deathblades

        Yes, Yes, No.

I think the manual provides all of this information, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was ambiguous on some points. Generally everything works in the intuitive way, which is basically to all stack, but as an example only your first blow after focusing gets the bonus, not every blow that round. Another important thing is that there are three main attacks that use your turn and trigger immediately: the normal bump to attack, Flanking, and Controlled Retreat. Only these ones trigger Follow Through, Herb of Rage, Whirlwind and some other things. Note that obviously I couldn't have all things trigger these or they would trigger themselves. I think I restrict it to those three main attack types exactly when this issue would arise.

Huh, flanking, controlled retreating et al. with Herb of Rage and/or whirlwind. That certainly explains my one winner. Dualwielding Delmereth and Glamdring with Flanking, Controlled retreat, Zone of control, opportunist, Song of Slaying, Song of sharpness.
