    Sil feature suggestion: damage color for kill

    A feature of Sil that I like a lot is the very quick flashing of the damage inflicted when you hit a monster. This damage number is conveniently color-coded (green for poison, brown for knockback/confusion, red for anything else, if I am not missing anything).
    A possible improvement would be adding a special color for when a killing blow is dealt (for instance, using red for killing blows and switching to yellow for normal damage). Sometimes, especially when dealing with fast monsters or when my light radius is 1 in the early game, it is not clear if I have killed a monster or it just fled out of my light radius. To do that, I have to check the verb used in the messages, which breaks flow, or even recall on screen the previous messages.

    I realize it is only a very minor inconvenience, but this would be a good improvement in my opinion.

    Not sure if I am the only one missing this; in any case, I implemented this change; here is a patch.

    Fatal damage is displayed in violet with this patch; I am not particularly satisfied with the color, but I did not wish to change unilaterally the red/light red for normal damage, so my choices were limited.

          Good. Feel free to use the patch if you wish (let's say I release it in public domain).

          If you wish to have a suggestion about the color choice, I'd go for red for fatal damage, and light red and yellow for normal damage above and below 10, respectively (if you wish to keep them different).

            I've now added a version of this to (the dev version of) Sil. I've gone for red for kills and light red for normal damage. I've phased out the separate colours for <10 damage and >=10 damage. These were only really needed when I had just single digit damage displays.
