Sil - multiple windows configuration (linux)

    Hi there,

I tried to launch Sil in multiple windows, with the same configuration as in SilStreamer videos on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07f3rKY2c50

The problem occurs when I trigger 6 windows by using "./sil -mx11 -- -n6": the game doesn't show the messages window (instead I have character info window)

I would also like to have a pre-defined configuration as to what size the windows are and where are they placed, so I don't have to position them every time the game starts.

I found some configuration in Sil/src/main-x11.c but that does not help much.

    I'm using xubuntu 12.10

Any help/how-to/configuration file would be very appreciated!

There is a script called "silx" in the main directory of the source distribution. It launches sil with 6 windows, and by editing the script you can configure the windows sizes, locations and fonts.

I haven't tried that - thanks, I can start the script with all the windows already placed!

But here is another problem: The windows in silx script are already defined as: inventory, equipment, monster recall, combat rolls and main game window.

I would like to have messages window instead of combat rolls and monsters in sight instead of monster recall. How can I do that? Do I have to compile the game again, with some changes in files?

      Thanks in advance!

I haven't found a way to configure what is displayed in the different windows.
However, there are windows already configured to show the messages and the monster list; you just have to display more of them, for instance, with -n9 instead of -n6.

You can set them to the position and size that you prefer, and minimize the ones that you do not want to see, with some tweaking of the silx file.

(incidentally, did you guys know that sil-x is also a popular model of high-quality juggling balls?)

Thanks for that, I'll mess with silx file.

It would be nice to have such option at some point. The same way as it is done in the vanilla Angband, where you can set in-game which windows should display which feature.
