The amount of time one can sink into tweaking tiles approaches infinity. But it's very addicting. I just could not leave Beorn be and especially after looking at the DCSS tiles and seeing that black bear there. Not exactly Gervais style, but close enough. Gervais tiles are more clean with less colors in a tile and very limited use of dithering. Anyways, here's my final Bear-Beorn edited from the older DCSS black bear. Just wanted to share it. For inspiration, if nothing else

Great bear! I'll be glad to include it to Tangaria's tileset if you do not have an objection

This is probably old news to you, but have you checked the Working Tiles from the old TomeTik website. On top of mixable head/body/clothing selections there are some versions of bears and wolves that are not in the "official" tiles.

Yeah, I got this stuff (on pink background, right?), thanks. Just didn't come to it yet Gervais lagacy is HUGE! We didn't use properly even 50% of it yet.

Indeed. Body parts and clothes are on a green bg, weapons and some animals on pink and a random selection of traps, doors, walls, chests and such is on a white bg. One could build a full set of humanoids from body parts, clothes and weapons. Fascinating.

Another interesting, albeit not that useful, piece on the site is the 32x32.zip. It has a mixture of 32x32 and upscaled 16x16->32x32 tiles. Looks like a work in progress where 16x16 tiles (Adam Bolt maybe) has been used as a base/inspiration from which 32x32 tiles have been drawn.

That reminds me, I did this years ago:

It's a tool for building humanoid tiles from those Gervais' work files. You can move the body parts around, and change the drawing order. The image files are in subfolders, and you can edit them, or add more images. I think it has most of the stuff from those work files.

You can download it from here (scroll to the bottom of the page):

Found some inspiration to tweak the ettens a bit. I'm kind of attached to the red troll used for as long as I remember, but it's not two-headed as it should be. Adding a club also felt appropriate for a troll. While I was at it, I wanted to have a skeleton etten that somewhat matched the tweaked etten. With the club of course . Here's the result:

Looks fun I'll add it to tileset, thanks!

I've updated .psd with new stuff.

I've checked tileset and found that it's already got ettins. I suppose you didn't find them cause in T' they called Ettins, while in modern V they called two-headed trolls (was renamed a year ago).. I prefer traditional DnD way in monster's types naming I've killed Ettins in loads of RPGs and it's fun to have them in T. Sorry for inconvenience. I'll include your variants of ettins to the tileset to use them at variations of Ettins one day. It's always great to have more monsters So thanks for contribution anyway! Current ettins:

Actually I noticed those and I think there is one more there somewhere, but old habits die hard . I'm so used to that red Gervais troll as an etten, I just had make a version based on that. And as you said, more variance does not hurt anyone. Etten btw is the name used in LOTR and ettin in DnD. My guess is that DnD uses ettin for copyright reasons.
