X11 interface and annoying beeps

I've noticed that Neoband emits loud, irritating beeps whenever I press an incorrect key in the bookless spell menu. Anyone know what causes this? I'd like to get rid of it in the next version.

(FYI I have X11 set to never beep, so I'm pretty sure it's local to Neoband.)
