    Activated equipment instantly recharges

    In the Oct 11 dev 593, activated equipment instantly recharges.

    I suspect this is one of the side effects of the fix for #1037. Here's what happens when I generate the Phial with debug commands, equip it and then read a scroll of identify from the ground:

    You see a scroll of identify.
    On the ground: the Phial of Galadriel <+3>.
    You see no more scrolls of identify.

      I not only found this bug with equipped items, but I found a rod of lightning in the dungeon that was recharging when I picked it up. I'd previously used and sold a similar rod.

        I'll look into this. Both the lack-of-recharge and the worn-things-on-the-ground issues have fixes waiting to be merged.

          A little more on what is probably related...

          The following display messages occurred when my fairly new (cl10) warrior identified a wielded (splendid) weapon using a ?Identify...

          On the ground: a Main Gauche <Defender> (1d5) (+5,+7) [+1] <+1>
          You see no more Books of Magic Spells [Magic for Beginners] {squelch}
          Illegal object choice {equip}! <3x>

          @ had some time earlier squelched mb1, but no idea why there was a message about seeing no more mb1 when identifying the weapon, nor why weapon was listed in the messages as on the ground when it was actually already wielded, nor what the illegal object choice {equip} was all about. I assume this is connected to the infinite activation with no recharge problem and the rest of the squelch issues that were a side-effect of the new great weapons category. I like the great weapons category, it keeps me from having to auto-inscribe !* on the three items. It will be great once the bugs it generated are killed.
