Just taste these: dry beef jerky, a hard biscuit, wine that's probably never been below 10 degrees celcius... they do leave a dry and nasty taste in your mouth don't you think?
What if we could add some extra food/drink items to Angband? And maybe some of those could give the player some temporary positive/negative side-effects in addition to filling up the belly also?
Suggested additional drinks:
-Elf wine
-Well aged Elf wine
-Nectar
-Dwarvish Ale
-Strong Dwarvish liquor
Suggested additional food items:
-A whole Elvish Waybread (contains several servings)
-Blueberry pie
-Sausage
-Carrot
-Apple
-Abandoned still sizzling pan with egg and bacon
-Roasted meat
-Roasted rat meat
-Meat that looks like chicken (but you're not sure)
These are just a bunch that I put down from many more possible additions, and I don't think you should have to prepare them in any way in order to gain additional bonuses/just eat them, although that would be a fun feature if you're playing as a hungry hobbit.
