I've found a couple more, related probably:

Your Rounded Pebbles glows.

But then:

The Rounded Pebble {worn} hit the Hairy Mold.

And something different, yet related to the pebbles:

Your Rounded Pebbles glows.
The Rounded Pebble {worn} hit the Hairy Mold.
You have 10 Rounded Pebbles (1d2) (+5,+5) {worn} (o).

So by using them, I found out they were (+5,+5), yet several turns later:

You feel the Rounded Pebbles (o) you are carrying in your pack are magical...

After which there is no longer an inscription.

Now I guess what happens is that: by using the pebbles I found out they were (+5,+5) but I still did not know everything. When I got the feeling the Pebbles were magical, that actually told me there was nothing more to be known about them. So a message like "You realize you know all about ...." might be better in this case.

Another, unrelated messaging error, on quaffing a potion of Blindness from a stack on the floor:

You see 4 potions of Blindness.
