Support for PNG is now in staging... I expect it will be live in a few days.

One thing to note--tiles don't (yet) support the multi-tile monsters you've created (e.g. the large giant standing out of his square). I know Takkaria plans to support tiles like these (as well as the different kinds of wall tiles), but it will take a little more time.

Thanks again to Blue Baron for the help!
Awesome! And regarding the tiles larger than 64x64 pixels, they are being used with ToME as of now. I assume some of them might fit in with Angband too later on when it supports multitiles Really looking forward to start adding my tiles to Angband!

But, how will the PNG support be done?Having the tiles in a tilesheet like it is currently being done with the bmp version or will there also be an option to have each creature/npc/treasure/item/player saved as single file tiles?

I think Takkaria does plan to support multitiles--maybe not for 3.3 though. We'll have to see.

Currently the tiles will need to be a sheet like the existing tile sets.

Breaking the tiles out into individual files is possible, but will require some extra work.

I've run across a little program called gluesprites, that will either split a 'file' into designated size tiles, or (more often than not for my purposes) will compile individual tiles into a designated size sheet.

Great work on the PNG support, once it gets widely adopted it will cut my work load a lot.

I think this question is asking when a new development version will be produced which includes Windows PNG support ;-)

The answer is soon but possibly a little longer than expected because of another major refactor in progress (UFT-8 conversion). If it hasn't appeared by the weekend, I'll try to ensure it gets pushed then.
